New York New York – What a Wonderful Town For Vintage

Last year we added vintage pop-up vintage shows to our mix of selling avenues and it has become the game changing decision of the year.  In 2024 we participated in The Manhattan Vintage show in New York City four times, and we were a vendor at two December shows of the Not A Normal Holiday Market.  These game-changing vintage shows bought us a slew of new customers and the best financial year for our business, since we were founded 9 years ago. In addition to the popup vintage shows, we made our debut hosting estates sales, which was a great deal of fun and contributed to our outstanding year.

With the shift in our business to focus on vintage shows, we have decided to expand into the New York City market.  We will move our HQ to Manhattan and continue to provide our archive for rental in Los Angeles and now in New York City through Clothed LA and provide selling and consignment services on both coasts.

The minute I stepped foot into Manhattan after 9 years away, I felt an immediate pull back to the city.  The electricity of the city moved through me and reminded me of just how much I loved living there 10 years ago.  The success of the business in the New York city area was the major contributing factor to making the change.  New York has always been the fashion capital of the United States and so it is no surprise that the fashionistas of the city are buying and consuming large amounts of unique vintage to add to their wardrobes.

The Moschino archive continues to surprise me with its relevance and the enthusiasm surrounding those pieces from the 1990s as young women experience them for the first time and older women are reminded of how wonderful the brand was in its heyday.

The move back to New York City, where I lived for 16 years, is a professional and personal milestone and not without a great deal of emotion attached.  To move forward we must leave something behind.  Behind me are wonderful friendships and relationships that I will always cherish and also ones I know will always be in my life, no matter where I live. But, it is time to grow and time to snap out of the routine I have been in.  I have a lot of personal freedom in my life and it would be a shame to not take advantage of that aspect of my life.

New York New York what a wonderful town.  I can’t wait to call it home again.
